A Judo master explains how Master Mehrdad is helping him heal an injured back and weak core. I started training in St. Petersburg with Master Mehrdad in 1994. Also, I was working out in judo and weight lifting. My weight was 235 lbs. Master Mehrdad kept telling me that I was not training correctly. Of course, I did not listen and I continued my incorrect training routine. My mixed training continued on and off until 2005. My lower back stared hurting and got continuously worse. I made a bad decision and stopped training with Master Mehrdad . Instead, I joined a gym. My back got worse and it became hard to climb stairs. The irony is that I thought I was doing the right thing. In 2011, Master Mehrdad happened to call me to find out how I was doing. Thank God he called. I explained my situation to him and I asked if he would help me. He said yes and I began training in July, 2011.
When he saw me for our first workout in 2011, he was shocked. My balance was poor and I had hardly any flexibility. I was a mess. In 2005 I could do a lot of stretching and hit the heavy bag for 12 straight rounds with 30 second intervals of rest. Fortunately my diet was excellent. I am a firm believer in eating organic food, which includes plenty of fruit, vegetables, protein, and carbs. The emphasis of my training now is yoga, core work, light strength building, and hitting the heavy bag. Also I lost weight, getting down to about 200 lbs. I never felt nor looked so strong and people are surprised when they see me. After 3 years of Master Mehrdad’s guidance and vast knowledge, my back is much stronger and my balance is almost completely normal.
My message is: If you are a student of Master Mehrdad, listen and follow his training strategies. You will be glad you did.
