Our Muay Thai fighter training program is known as “The Art of 8 Limbs”. Amateur and professional fighters find this program highly beneficial for their fighting careers, as Master Mehrdad has an extensive professional fighting career himself. As a teacher, he allows anybody, male or female, to sign up for this class whether they are a potential fighter or not, as long as they are serious about their fitness training.
Master Mehrdad trains amateur fighters seeking to further their fighting career to go pro. He also trains Muay Thai striking skills to professional fighters such as Matt “The Hammer” Hamil who flew in for a few weeks of training prior to his UFC fight. About Muay Thai Core Fundamentals
Some core fundamentals of the Muay Thai fight class include honor, respect, and learning the foundation of Full-Contact Muay Thai fighting. This unique training program is traditional and unique and it was developed by Master Mehrdad under his Shin Do Kumaté fighting system. Master Mehrdad introduced Muay Thai training, as well as amateur and professional Muay Thai fighting to the Tampa Bay area in 1992. At that time, no one was teaching traditional Martial Arts or Muay Thai in Pinellas County. It was an era when you could only find above the waist point fighting Martial Art schools. Since that time, Master Mehrdad has produced the Muay Thai Classic amateur fighting events, as well as the professional Muay Thai fighting events titled Strykerz Shin Do Kumate’, which have all been produced for television and aired worldwide.
The Shin Do Kumate headquarters are in Tampa Bay, Florida, where Master Mehrdad opened his first Muay Thai and Martial Arts gym, which was in 1992 and the start of when he first began introducing “The Art of 8 Limbs” to his students. The first Muay Thai Classics tournament took place in 1995, which was amateur Muay Thai competitions for Martial Artists of all ages. Master Mehrdad produced many great talented male and female fighters and took them from amateur status to pro.
In 2002, Master Mehrdad established MKM Knockout Promotions, which was the first Pro Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts fighting organization ever sanctioned by the State of Florida. Prior to Shin Do Kumate, the Florida State Athletic Boxing Commission had only sanctioned professional Boxing events.
