It is essential that all students, parents, and newcomers fully understand Master Mehrdad’s system of teaching.  His teachings are based on traditionalism and the fundamentals of his unique art, of which he has devoted his entire life.  His knowledge is unique and contrary to today’s commercialized lifestyle.  His philosophy is that true Martial Arts have many branches.  The teachings of Martial Arts can be used both as a tool by which to live a healthy balanced life and the path to become the greatest Martial Artist or fighter of all time.

Few of today’s teachers can demonstrate Master Mehrdad’s wisdom and knowledge that he gained through his lifelong journey.  Each individual possesses many talents.  Some must search long and hard for their talents and some are born with great natural abilities, but each must work hard every day to refine and develop these talents throughout their lifetime if they are to rise to their most powerful potential.

One day a week is devoted strictly to the Martial Arts consisting of forms, self defense, weapons and meditation.  Students learn coordination, skill and balance.  This is where they tap into the gracefulness and beauty behind the Martial Arts.  The Martial Arts and weapons form taught in this school are not acrobatic or empty and it’s not similar to any other commercial school styles.  It is a unique expression of one’s self.  As an example, you can learn hip hop dancing on the street or you can learn Ballet from a prestigious academy.

Master Mehrdad practices what he preaches by demonstrating his Martial Arts skills, whether  through his numerous Martial Arts demonstrations or by stepping into the ring and fighting the very best fighters of all time.  He consistently proves his skills and has been selected to compete by other fighting organizations for his talents and reputation for demonstrating his ability as a true Master and full-contact fighter.

He brings his passion and love for teaching into his Dojang and shares his knowledge with all his students.  He believes that the way of Martial Arts is established by the relationships between the Master and his students, his art, and the Dojang itself.  In return he asks for respect, honor, morals, values, and the acceptance of the principles of eastern philosophy, which has been practiced for thousands of years.  He shows all of this by the way he demonstrates his art and the manner in which he shares his knowledge.

There is no price that can be placed on knowledge.  Knowledge is priceless and should be honorably given and acknowledged as a privilege.  You are not in a commercial school.  You are being trained in a traditional Martial Arts school and are not given a ranking… you earn a ranking.  You are not given knowledge, you earn knowledge.

Fundamental Facts of the Martial Arts:

  • The meaning behind Dojo, Dojang, Kwan or Martial Art Academy stands for “A Hall where one pursues their dream of enlightenment or mastery of Martial Arts in multiple directions.”
  • Loyalty to the Master, Dojang, Art, and Yourself.
  • Respect to the art, all other students and also to the Master.  By demonstrating respect, you earn respect.
  • Devotion, Hard Work, and Patience.  It takes time to understand this beautiful Far Eastern culture.  Learning Martial Arts is a Way of Life, not a short-term hobby.
  • Honor.  The most powerful word in life; not only in Martial Arts, but also in your regular everyday life.  It is something that comes from within and with a lot of discipline.  It is not something that everyone understands.
  • And lastly, take all of that in which you have learned in your Martial Art school to your home, family, loved ones and your work.
